Thinking of joining the HAPY Egyptology Society?

  • We are a friendly group of  like minded people with a passion for Egyptian history and culture and are based in Yorkshire.
  • Our “in-person” lecture evenings are all held bi-monthly on Saturdays from 4pm at the Cooper Gallery in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
  • Non-members are also very welcome at any of our “in-person” lectures, although our existing members receive a discount on the ticket price.
  • Membership runs from January to January each year at a very reasonable cost of :
    • £15 for an individual 
    • £20 for a couple
  • There is a pro-rata membership fee for new members joining after January which reduces each quarter.
  • Get in contact with our Membership Secretary, who can provide you with our payment details.
  • Once joined you’ll be provided with a membership card, and will be able to join in our member only activities.
  • Discounted ticket prices for all our “in-person” lectures.
  • Free online hieroglyph courses (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)
  • Able to use the Society’s Library. Books can be viewed and reserved by emailing and will be ready for collection at the next lecture.
  • Invitation to free online, member-led, bi-monthly presentations and lectures
  • Invitation to Society “Away-Days”: such as museum visits with “behind the scenes” access and private tours.
  • Invitations to join the  Society’s  fully escorted tours (at an additional cost)
