The scene shows the heart being weighed on a large balance, Anubis officiating. If the heart weighs heavy then the monstrous demon Ammit (crocodile-hippo-lion) would devour the soul which would then be lost forever. The Ibis -headed Thoth records the result. On the throne, Osiris waits to receive the soul of the “light-hearted”. In front of Osiris on a lotus flower stand the four sons of Horus, among them Hapy.
The two lines of gods above the scene are then judges.
