Tuesday 15th September 7pm (to be confirmed)

The land we know as Egypt has had human inhabitants for millennia. This talk will draw on examples from the time of the hunter-gatherers through the first permanent settlements to the royal cemetery at Abydos.

We will consider nameless individuals of prehistory and those whose burials coincided with, or post-dated, the invention of writing as well as the earliest evidence of mummification.

The talk will include images of both adult and child burials.
